Financial Analysis Made Easy:
Step by Step Guide to Financial Ratios

Date: 2nd May 2019, Thursday
Time: 7:00pm to 9:00pm
Venue: Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre

I normally conduct advanced courses on how copy trade works tips web site so this workshop is quite different as its aimed at beginners.

The upcoming workshop will be absolutely crucial for what I am going to teach for future classes.

You don’t need to be an expert in reading financial reports.

But you do need to understand simplified financial ratios.

I am going to save you time and energy by focusing on the ratios that matter.

Knowing what to look for is as important as knowing what not to look for.

This course focuses heavily on application so you can walk away with useful insights that you can apply to your own investment portfolio straight-away

  1. Spotted impending dividend cuts in stable “blue-chips” like SPH & Starhub before they happen
  2. Avoided companies that are likely to go into financial distress like Hyflux & Noble Group
  3. Find great companies using the simple four-step filter process that Warren Buffett uses when evaluating investments

This workshop will draw heavily on my own investing experiences in the financial markets over the last nine years.

There will also be an extensive Q & A after the class where I will stay back and answer your questions and queries.

This tends to be the highlight for many students as we cover a broad range of topics (even outside the class curriculum).

I hope to see you there!

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. How is this different from the other courses you have taught such as Deep Value Detector?

My previous courses were focused heavily on banks and property developers & landlords. It can be considered an advanced course for people who already have experience with fundamental analysis.

Financial Analysis Made Easy is targeted at people who are newer to investing, or may be unfamiliar or confused with all the different financial ratios and want to know what is actually important.

  2. I don’t have any prior financial experience. Will this course be too much for me?

Absolutely not! The workshop targeted at lay people and I have crafted it such that concepts are explained simply.

I will be teaching the framework that I use to evaluate good investments and avoid bad ones.

Students will also have access to our online course after the live workshop to refresh and revise whenever necessary.

  3. Will this course be very theoretical? How will I apply what you’ve taught to my own investments?

A large part of the course will revolve around actual case studies that have occurred in the Singapore stock market over the last few years.

In particular, we will talk about Starhub & SPH (dividend cuts), Swiber (financial distress) and Challenger Technologies.

I will walk you through my thought process in applying the framework taught during the course in evaluating these investments and drawing out the key learning points from each.

  4. Other than the case studies mentioned above, are there any other updates provided?

As this is the first live workshop this year, I will also be hosting an additional webinar after the course where I will discuss how I evaluate Singapore banks (UOB, OCBC and DBS).

I will talk about the preferred valuation ratio that I use to pick my entry points such as early in 2016 and earlier this year in 2019.

Students can also expect additional case studies and articles in future webinars.
